Coupa Setup Guide

Prerequisites

  • A Coupa account with Administrator role or the api_filters/index permission.

Setup Guide

  • Step 1: Find your hostname

    1. Log in to your Coupa account.
    2. Find the hostname in your Coupa account's URL and make a note of it. Coupa hostnames follow the format \{customer_name\}.coupahost.com or \{customer_name\}.coupacloud.com. The https:// or http:// protocol is not part of the hostname.
  • Step 2: Find your Client ID and Client Secret

    1. In your Coupa account, go to the Setup tab.

    2. In the Integrations section, click Setup > Oauth2/OpenID Connect Clients.

    3. Click Create.

    4. For Grant Type, select Client credentials.

    5. Enter a Name, Login, Contact Firstname, Contact Lastname, and Contact Email.

    7. Copy the Client ID shown next to Identifier — you'll need it to configure Matia.

    8. Click Show/Hide under Secret to reveal the Client Secret, and copy it — you'll need it to configure Matia.

  • (Optional) Edit API response filters

Coupa uses API filters to constrain the volume of data returned, labeled using the pattern default_[ResourceName]_filter. To edit the default filters and exclude fields from the response, go to Setup > Integrations > API Filters in Coupa. Fields blocked by a filter sync to Matia as null.

  • Step 3: Connect Coupa in Matia

    1. Enter the Hostname you found earlier.
    2. Enter the Client ID and Client Secret you copied above.
    3. Enter an Asset Name.
    4. (Optional) Enter a Description.
    5. (Optional) Assign Tags.
    6. Select an Owner.
    7. Verify that your Coupa account is successfully connected by clicking on Test Connection.
    8. Click Connect.
