Workday Setup Guide

Prerequisites

  • An active Matia account
  • A Workday account with administrator access
  • Advanced type reports configured in Workday with web service access enabled
  • A data warehouse already connected to Matia

Setup Guide

  1. Provide Workday Credentials

    • Insert the Workday username and password you'd like to use for the connection to Matia.
  2. Create New User

    • Log into Workday as an Administrator
    • Search for 'create user' and select Create Integration System User
    • Enter a Username and Password
    • Leave "Require New Password at Next Sign In" unchecked
    • Select "Do Not Allow UI Sessions"
    • Click OK and Done
  3. Create Security Group

    • Create a new Security Group with type "Integration System Security Group (Unconstrained)"
    • Enter a Security Group Name
    • Add your integration user to the "Integration System Users" field
    • Click OK
  4. Configure Security Policies

    • Navigate to Security Group Settings > Maintain Domain Permissions for Security Group
    • In Integration Permissions, select appropriate security domains for your reports
    • Go to "Activate Pending Security Policy Changes"
    • Click OK and Confirm to activate
  5. Create and Configure Report

    • Create a new Custom Report
    • Set Report Type to "Advanced"
    • Enable "Web Service" option
    • Add your Data Source and required fields
    • In the Share tab, add your integration user as an Authorized User
    • In Advanced tab, share to Report-as-a-WebService
    • Get the REST URL from Actions → Web Service → View URLs
    • Copy the URL into the Report URL field
