Gainsight Setup Guide
Prerequisites
- An active Gainsight NXT account
- Admin access in Gainsight to generate an API Access Key
Setup Guide
Step 1: Locate Your Gainsight Subdomain
Your Gainsight subdomain is the prefix in your Gainsight URL:
https://<subdomain>.gainsightcloud.com
For example, if your URL is:
https://acme.gainsightcloud.com
Then your subdomain is:
acme
You will need this value when configuring the connector in Matia.
Step 2: Generate a Gainsight API Token
Matia uses Gainsight’s REST API Access Key for authentication.
- Log into your Gainsight instance.
- Navigate to Administration → Connectors 2.0 (or API Integrations, depending on your environment).
- Open the REST API section.
- Click Generate Access Key or Regenerate Access Key if one already exists.
- Copy the generated API Token. This key will be used by Matia to send data into Gainsight.
Note: Gainsight API Keys are long-lived but may rotate if manually regenerated. If the key changes, you must update it inside Matia.
Step 3: Complete Configuration in Matia
In Matia → Destinations → Add Destination → Gainsight:
- Enter your Gainsight Subdomain (from Step 1).
- Enter your API Token (from Step 2).
- Enter an Asset Name
- (Optional) Enter a Description
- (Optional) Assign Tags
- Select an Owner
- Verify that your Gainsight environment is successfully connected by clicking on Test Connection
- Click Connect
