Search and browse the catalog
This guide explains how to search and browse the catalog to find databases, schemas, tables, and other assets. For concepts, see Catalog overview and How catalog and lineage work.
Browse the Asset Tree
On the Catalog page, the left side shows the asset tree with all connected assets:
- Data warehouse — connected warehouses (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery).
- Databases — under each warehouse.
- Sources and destinations — ETL and reverse ETL connections (Postgres, Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.).
- BI integrations — e.g. Tableau, Metabase, Omni.
- Orchestration — e.g. dbt instances.
Choose an asset to open its details view in the content area on the right. Drill down (e.g. warehouse → database → schema → table) to see structure, description, owners, tags, freshness, row count, monitors, and certificates.
Search
Use search on the catalog tree or via Global Search (command + K) to find assets by name or path. Search across the warehouse and other connected assets to jump to a specific table, schema, database, or even integrations and monitors.
Content Area and Tabs
Once you select an asset in the catalog you'll see the following tabs:
- Overview: Contents of the asset (e.g. databases under a warehouse, tables under a schema), with description, owners, tags, and lineage indication. The right sidebar shows freshness and row count (when relevant), custom monitors, schema changes, description, owners, tags, and certificates.
- Usage (table level): Where supported, usage over the last 30 days — top users, query text, average duration, call count.
- Lineage: For tables with lineage, a canvas with the table as the home node and upstream/downstream nodes. See View lineage.
Use Copy URL, Copy name, or Copy path from the Actions menu to share or reference the asset.
